Placing and Restoring Dental Implants in Arlington, TX
Replacing your lost teeth is a key part of restorative dental care. Implants offer you a more stable replacement than bridges or dentures alone. Star Dental offers dental implants to Arlington, Lake Arlington, Arlington Grand Prairie, and Fort Worth.
Placing Your Implants
The core of the dental implant is the titanium post. This artificial root gives your new tooth a higher level of support than traditional restorations. As a result, the successful placement of the post determines the success of the entire treatment process.
Our Arlington dentist conducts implant placement, the first step in dental implant treatments. Dr. Ho’s expert knowledge and precise skillset allow him to successfully add the implant post to the jaw. In order to help patients to comfortably undergo this stage of care, we use nitrous oxide and local anesthetics to create a relaxed state in his patients. If a patient needs a healthier bone structure to accept the implant, Dr. Ho can also provide bone grafting before or on the same day as placement.
The Recovery Phase
After you have undergone implant placement, you will go through a healing period of a few months before you are ready for your restorations. This process allows the implant posts to fuse with the jaw bone, becoming the tooth roots you need. However, this does not mean that you have to go without teeth at this time. In select cases, Dr. Ho can provide a temporary prosthetic that protects the site of healing and your smile’s aesthetic qualities during the recovery phase.
Restoring Your Implants
An implant-supported restoration allows you to chew food comfortably and provides aesthetic benefits to your smile. Once the posts have fully integrated into your jaw, the permanent restorations and their connecting abutments are added to the posts. This step completes the dental implant treatment process.
Dr. Ho offers several forms of implant restoration to meet each patient’s unique needs. We provide single-implant crowns to replace individual missing teeth, multiple-implant bridges for a continuous row of lost teeth, and dentures for rebuilding an entire arch. In addition to the removable overdenture, we also provide a set of fixed denture-like prosthetics that only requires a total of four or six implants for support. Dr. Ho’s provision of all-on-four, all-on-six, and removable implant dentures means that his patients have several options for a full mouth reconstruction.
