Simpler extractions tend to only require a local anesthetic, while more severe cases may benefit from IV sedation to ease anxieties or a general anesthesia for complete unconsciousness during the surgery. 

Removing impacted molars when no complications exist is similar to any simple extraction. When the impaction leaves the tooth embedded in the bone, we’ll remove sections of the tooth to minimize the amount of bone removed as a precaution.
